To launch the AAA video game “Sea Of Thieves,” No Mimes Media created a globe-spanning, real-time treasure hunt: “The Quest For The Golden Bananas.”
“The Quest” challenged pirate crews to solve a series of fiendish riddles and uncover the hidden location of a valuable treasure. To do so, we sent players to hidden sites online and real-world locations to dig up the answers. Tying the experience together was a character from the game brought to life in a series of videos that presented each clue to the players.
In the interactive finale, the winning crew spoke directly to this character, as they worked together to uncover the ultimate hiding place for the treasure. The victorious crew walked away with $100,000 in real, gold-plated bananas.
